ATS score checker: common questions

What is an ATS score?

An ATS score shows how well applicant tracking systems (the software most employers use to sort CVs) can read your CV and match it to a job. Our ATS Readiness Score from 0 to 100 checks your layout, contact details, section headings, dates, results with numbers, bullet points and the rules of the country you apply to.

Is this ATS CV checker really free?

Yes. The ATS check and the full report are free, with no sign-up and no hidden parts. You only pay if you want us to fix and rebuild your CV, once, with no subscription.

What is a good ATS score?

75 to 89 is good and 90 or more is excellent. Below 50, many systems will struggle to read your CV correctly. A CV fixed by ATS CV Fixer is built to score 90 or more on our checker.

Does it work for CVs and resumes?

Yes. CV and resume mean the same document here. Upload a PDF or Word (.docx) file, or a photo or screenshot, and choose the country or region you are applying to, such as the UAE and Gulf, the UK, the USA or India.

Can I check my CV against a job description?

Yes. Open "Compare with a job ad" and paste the job ad. The report then shows which important keywords from the ad your CV is missing.

Is my CV kept private?

Your file is deleted as soon as we read it. The text for your report is stored encrypted and deleted after 24 hours, or right away when you press "Delete my data now".

Does a high ATS score guarantee an interview?

No. A high score means software can read your CV well and that it follows good practice. Interviews and job offers depend on your experience and on each employer.
